A family firm since 1970, working from our yard near Farnham — foundations, drainage and hard landscaping for developers, builders and private clients.
Most of our work is the whole groundworks package on a residential build — one firm, one set of machines, one crew doing the lot.
We work for local developers, builders and private clients, and alongside the architects and engineers designing the job. Because the levels, the falls and the drainage all get dealt with together, it usually works out quicker and cheaper than splitting the trades.
Foundations and Concrete Bases
Strip, trench fill and raft foundations, structural concrete bases for oak-framed buildings and outbuildings, and block and beam floors — a good choice on sloping sites. We work from your engineer's drawings, set out on site and take it through to slab level ready for the bricklayers.

Drainage, Treatment Plants and Septic Tanks
If a site isn't on mains drainage, the drainage decides whether it can be built. We design and install foul drainage, sewage treatment plants, septic tanks and pump stations to Environment Agency and building control standards — including older septic tanks that must be replaced under the General Binding Rules.

Retaining Walls
Structural retaining walls from garden terracing up to walls forming part of a building. We specialise in LOGIX™ insulated concrete formwork, and also build STEPOC™, reinforced hollow block and sleeper walls. Every wall gets proper drainage behind it — the main reason retaining walls fail.

We come at hard landscaping from the groundworks side, so we tend to get the jobs with a structural element — a drive over tree roots, a terrace that needs retaining, a garden re-graded before anything is laid. Every drive starts with a properly built sub-base and a drainage plan.

About us
JC Aldred Services Ltd., established since 1970, is a reliable groundworks business, which operates from Farnham in Surrey. We pride ourselves with a loyal customer base, for whom we carry out regular projects. We offer a professional but personal service. This means we're often able to foresee site issues and solve any problems quickly, efficiently and without fuss.
The majority of our work comes via repeat customers, including developers such as Rookery Barns Ltd., Eavoak Ltd., HH Hilder & Sons Ltd. and Grangewood Southern Ltd.
Due to our friendly, efficient and understanding approach to each project we have garnered a positive local reputation for good workmanship, and a high standard of finish for each project phase. We're not inhibited by new challenges and welcome new innovations and exciting projects.
To ensure we deliver an efficient service we own and operate a comprehensive and well-maintained range of contractors plant including Volvo excavators and Terex site dumpers. All our excavator machine operators are fully CITB qualified.

Based at our yard in Dockenfield near Farnham, on the Surrey–Hampshire border. We cover both counties within about a 75 mile radius.

Dan and his team have done a couple of projects for us and always do an excellent job. Demolishing and removing old garage, preparing and laying foundations for a new garage including a soak-away.
